End of Days
The oceans now rise
upon patches of land.
Salt dripped soil
now barren of life.
As ice caps of the north now
crouch upon flooding coastal cities.
Lost is the Statue of Liberty
under a deep azure sea.
As weather changes in masses
under the sun's glow.
While the ozone layer blisters
from past chimneys of billowing smoke.
Choking back the air
once breathed by natures host.
Trees previously green
forever gone and missed.
Leaves dropped in vales
where nothing now exists.
Heaven's scorn now drapes the earth.
No hope remains from the winds of sand
which now has deprived all existence of humankind.
