Enchantress

She lies with her feet at the headboard
nestled in skimpy, white cotton for attire
odds and ends stand ready for her
she is so well-rounded...
smart, sweet, funny, drunk!
passed out like a yellow, flourescent angel
with butterfly wings in the rain
strands of her hair cover her right eye
the left side of her face
is molded into the mattress
causing her features to pooch and purse
I saw her praying to the porcelain god
I carefully held her hair back
she collapsed to the cold linoleum
the cool thought must have felt good
no way she actually felt it
out of all the people
how did we end up alone?
when she wakes, the bed will be spinning
I will be dreaming of her name
