Emily Helen, you're turning 4 today.
I don't know how I feel,
I'm at a loss as to what to say.
My head tells me one thing, be proud, be strong,
While my heart says another.
It hasn't been that long.
I remember your first step, you teetered when you stood.
Your first word made me smile.
If I could freeze time, I would.
I look at you now, so strong-willed, so smart.
You just have to laugh
To completely fill my heart.
I am proud, I know I have to be stronger.

To hold my baby girl a little bit longer.
