Eggs

You're a pedantic "egghead" with a bookish pretense
You're a cerebral mugwump
with no common sense

You have an "egg on your face" to show embarrassment
You have an ignominy
to show gross debasement

You're one to "egg on" someone goading a performance
You're one to bully someone
goading a conformance

You've laid a giant "goose egg" like an depleted shell
You've laid a path drained of verve
like an exhausted well

You have a cushy "nest egg" as a financial swerve
You have a miser's mattress
as a hidden reserve

You're described as a "good egg" because of the surmise
You're described as a credit
because of the disguise.
