Eating our pride

EATING OUR PRIDE

Not blowing trumpets of titles
Not raising the flag of medals
Not drumming the rolling achievements
Not using the mouth of conceitedness

Stepping down to reach the ordinary
Sharing wisdom into the ground streaming level
Plunge with servility to save the drowned
Searching the truth of true compassion

Clean their deeds by exemplifying our within
Respect them with high notes of value
Paint them with good imagery of dignity
Attune them with the music of harmony and friendships

Swim with their burdens with camaraderie
Remove clothes of vanity and share the openness of hearts
Soak with the reality and touch the lives under our skin
With our bare hands, let us eat our pride to join with others

        with the cloak of humility

Herbert Guitang

I started making poems when I was in high school. Creativity and Imagination develop every poem I do. The level of our maturity in poetry brings us self happiness and soar us in all kinds of being and life. I studied Music Composition in University of the Philippines. Through this, it spreads more deepness and bliss to my art and poetry. I believe, INSPIRATION comes to all things within and outside us. INSPIRATION that unifies and serve as LIFE to our being.
