Ducks and Drakes (Skipping Rocks on Water)

Ducks and drakes go skidding along,
Skimming along, swimming along.
Ducks and drakes go skipping along,
Sailing across the water.
Duck is the true dame of the stream,
Proud as a queen, feathers all preened.
Duck knows she is matron supreme
Travelling across the water.
Drake thinks he is perfectly cool.
King of the pool, he acts the fool.
Drake's convinced he's top of the rule,
Tailing across the water.
Ducklings now are following fast,
Littlest last, floating on past.
Ducklings lined up, having a blast
Trailing across the water.
Ducks and drakes go skidding along,
Skimming along, swimming along.
Ducks and drakes go skipping along,
Sailing across the water.
