Downpour: A Love Poem

Like a gentle Spring rain
falling endlessly,
satiating a dry ground, crackled,
craving its moisture.

A downpour of love
mutually shared,
each drop
deliciously
drizzling hearts
in quiet, knowing
expectancy.

Where,
a passion stirred
with the basic elements of respect,
tenderness, maturity
negates the constant search
for darker claps of thunder,
or,
for lightning to strike,
sparkling waiting horizons asunder.

Where,
drops of our essence,
are the sole necessity,
saturating,
drenching,
softly soaking
in sweet urgency,
all
there
is
of
you
and
me.
