Double Feature

The Bijou's seats untaken
Her silver screen a ghostly gray
Proud organ pipes are empty,
As the popcorn tubs still stacked,
Once you sat right next to me.
clutching Dish Night's "Premium Platter"
curling self against my chest
in shadowed reveries
Memories ,hunger now
for soft hands held
anticipating exploration
and magic journeys;
pile up dusty corduroy motes
beneath me .
Our breaths now weighted,
not excited,
I count remaining years
in M&Ms unmelted.
