Doleful dejection

There is no black nor white,
but murky shades of gray,
running together like clouds
on a twilight painted canvas,
each obligatory to the next.
So much I left unsaid.
Deaf and voiceless I latched
my heart and interior being.
Like the seasons transform
my essence withered.
Behind schedule I became
conscious of my love for you.
Sadly time drifted into morrow.
The carriage of destiny ascended,
exiting exclusive of me.
Wishes and dreams unaided
cannot reset the clock.
I witness paths of contrary directions.
One seeking love undying,
the other necessitates merriment.
