Disparation/Desperation

Letting the heart have its fill
Of strong --
Very strong--
Emotion, allowing the body to do as it will
Blends two hearts into one-- naughty?
but blended hearts can't function in society
And so love songs notwithstanding
the blended hearts coalesce--
separating
To lead disparate lives
next door
next town
next state
Pining
but knowing
We have our own paths to follow
No one there
to share
the pillow
*sigh*

I've been teaching English in Warsaw for more than 17 years, but now doing translation, proofreading and online writing (Wattpad, Scribd and Medium). I actually submitted these poems more than 19 years ago on the old-old poetry.com website; it's great to see them come to light again! more…
