Desert Dance (Original)

A land you have never heard of, where I stand
Buried to the neck and bound. The true
Criminal is buried beside me to the waist, in
Desert sand. They say that, if the Writer sees fit, the innocent shall
Escape. I see that it is written!
First, I tilt my chin to the right and left. Soon, I will
Go. This man has no spirit to escape, but I know
How to dance! Head slide to the side, first slow, forceful. Then fast
In a circle.
Just watch the sand fall.
Knuckle undulations. Slow
Lift and drop chest.
My criminal watches me with more lust, than imagination;
No desire to shake off his dust.
Oh, justice is sweet! Shoulder circles, hands
Perfectly still. He is angry, now. He
Questions his Writer. Twisting hands-sharp nails
Rip cords.
Slow chest circles.
Take the snake arms-shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand.
Under the sand, I feel freedom. My arms are strong.
Vibrations of the knees, as I listen to the strings playing. I trust my
Writer to write me well. Hip twists. Slow ankle circles. I untie myself.
Xenolith no longer am I.
You see?
Zealous anger in eyes written to die. Maktub.
