Depression Grows

My mind, so crowded, stress seeps in
To drown all that is good,
Reviving every buried sin
That feeds depression's seed.

Out of control it grows
As it overtakes my mind.
It covers me with its leaves,
Until to happiness I'm blind.

Now its roots grow very deep,
Sucking energy from my soul.
My sanity I cannot keep.
Still, it continues to grow.

It binds me, oh, so very tight.
To run, I have no means.
Alone, I know I cannot fight.
Please, someone hear my screams.
