Demon of The Past

I buried Its skull and Its bones
As I assured with prayer
I even covered with thick heavy stones
The grave and its outer layer
I hoped to feel the peace being alone
By killing the dark spirit player
But resurrected my demon

Once again, its dark presence is in the air
But no one but me can see it
I hold on tight to my rocking chair
As it fights with me to free it
I look in fury with a glassy stair
At a foggy space hopping to be it
But I can't release my demon

I put on a fake smile and cheer
While it devours me in fire
Trying to hold back a drilling tear
ripping through me like thorny wire
I live in constant hidden fear
As I contain my ravaging desire
To set free my inner demon

I can only maintain for long
My happy living act
As if I'm doing something wrong
Or my heart is not intact
My patience is only as strong
As Long as I can hide the fact
That I am haunted by my past demon

So finally with a loud painful burst
I scream out the haunting hellish fire
I collapse so damaged like I was cursed
But the struggle has not put me higher
I should feel better but I felt worst
When I opened the closet of my desire
So once again, I killed my demon
