Defiant Child

Floating with the waves
Wherever it takes
And the restful stays
Are all leaving away

And I cannot seem to pave
A way against the waves
But the struggle of the sail
And the cold is hard to face

In this voyage alone
And the end is unknown
And yet a will that soars
To savour the unexplored

The waves become strong
And the cold nights are long
But I cannot lose control
For a subsisting soul

In the memories of that land
A child savouring the sand
With a blithe in the cascade
Flooded the pleasurable ways

Adrift with those he hates
For the way they misbehaved
That they died as they drowned
So he will never go down

So I reach a jagged ground
Where the mountains are found
With a pleasing peak that soars
And beckons that child for more

For the child who was flown
And battered in that boat
I will work to quiver my bones
To reach where the warm sun is shone
