Deep In The Heart Of The Forest

a man dressed in black
arrived at the village around noon
he had shifty eyes and a deadly stare
built like a tank with slick black hair

no one knew who he was
or where he came from
no one bothered to ask
they were too afraid to

he stopped by the local tavern
at around six and had himself a drink
he stared at his watch..all night long
when it came time, he paid the bartender..and then he was gone

no one knew where he was going
or why he was running
somehow they all knew he wouldnt
make it through sunrise

deep in the heart of the forest he laid
the ashes were all that remained
to this day no one spoke of his name
broken the code and expect to see the light of day
