Declination

The will that pushes me forward wains,
each day a little more recedes
pushing up battlements to those around;
to self protect is vital, the needs
of others must be delayed. I, me,
that is what is important. They, us
have no relevance, it is now always
The future is but a vanishing apparition,
shrouded in deepest black, no light
can enter or escape, no sound heard
or given from within, black upon black.
Now is my attestation of the decline,
slowly creeping, like a night thief
desecrating my narcissistic former self.
Tonight I sleep, Hypnos will oversee
my dreams, keeping Pluto once more
at bay, until Helius brings a new day.
