death shall then prevail

clifton redmond

the hand of death
 shall come to all
taste pure the end
the sweet release
the nectar kiss
then nothingness
death shall then prevail

the fear so real
that blood run cold
dry skin brittles
the bones now dust
the flesh be eaten
a haunting scale
death shall then prevail

such grief be known
the scent of pine
upon the air
the misty grey
the sodden cloth
the guilty tears
death shall then prevail

a simple end
the freshened dirt
that welcome all
for body lies
in still decay
accept its way
death shall then prevail
