Dead of Rwanda
We have never met
and yet, I sense
your spirits linger
'round untimely grave.
Bulldozer scooping,
shoving its waste
into the dry sod
where seed or weed
refused to grow.
Human souls lie
like broken down cars
waiting to die.
You were a brother,
perhaps a friend
or mother with child
clinging to breasts
long dried up wells of
withering flesh.
I shall not forget
You were human.
