cupid's tea

Cupid's Tea
By Rita Sabanal Laurencio
ave maria, full of patience,
sold for a poem and a broccoli. but
would a pink rose and
a dappled statue
feel at home
while spring warms a coy
lily...

speak! big maria, please.
turn your yellow pages,
"oh salute, salute, to you
maria, full of grace!"

shattering silence
drifting into
wild kisses.
hosanna in a fertile womb

the same romping flowers sweeps maria
'til her wild jelly of broccoli
was born down.

"ave maria purissima,
is it a sin if i take aspirin!"
