Cues Evoking Memory

Wafting fragrance of perfume can take you back in time.
Vivid scenes lift your balloon
to stratospheres sublime.
Letters written in the sand still abide in the heart.
Scuttlebutt spread secondhand
upset the apple cart.
Dusty photograph albums hold captive erstwhile moods.
Taste once more Jamaican rums
and varied ethnic foods.
People who are look-alikes can resurrect the past.
Hiking over northern pikes
revive a memory cast.
Special jokes convulse a laugh to stir things left behind.
Music on the phonograph
can jolt your frame of mind.
Initials carved on a tree have never been erased.
Finding bargains duty-free
remain there to be traced.
