Crossing Guard

A worried elderly woman without a pension
Life was getting hard
She needed to find a job
She became a crossing guard

She was a caring woman
With kindness and grace
When the children walked up to her
A smile was always on her face

For a little old lady
The children thought she was pretty cool
She always asked how their day was
And what they were doing in school

And as she got to know the kids
Her loneliness went away
She had found new friendships
She looked foward to every new school day
