Crested And Kissed

As snap of canvas
sets taught ropes groaning,
She skims the water
wooden planks moaning.

The taste of salt brine
bites both lips and tongue,
nature's elixir
it's what keeps me young.

Foamy frothy peaks
are crested and kissed,
as indigo waves
explode into mist.

Chasing shy breezes
She leans to her side,
feeling elated
I'm bursting with pride.

Yet exaltation
dies on the next swell,
betrayed by the wind,
her sails drooped and fell.

Many of my poems reflect the uniqueness and special circumstances of my upbringing. more…
