consumed

Sometimes I wonder about the thoughts inside of me.
It feels like they consume me and I wonder if others can see.
I want to scream and I want to shout.
Just to let all my dirty little secrets out.
All the things that I've been through.
And all the things that I've let people do.
 I really didn't think I had a choice.
So I never bothered to use my voice.
To stand up to all those who hurt me so.
Instead of letting them get to me and make me feel low.
I don't want to do this anymore.
I'm tired of feeling like I'm a who're.
Please help me to change to who I want me to be.
Help me to stand my ground and not want to flee.
I look in the mirror and hate what I see.
For letting all those people get the better of me.
I pray that someday they will have to answer for what they've done.
And if I learn to trust in the Lord, I know my battle will be won.
