Closer look

You look at only the outside of me.
If you would just take a closer look there is so much more to see.
I wish you would look on the inside.
When people say I'm superficial, I just want to hide.
There is so much more of me that I just don't show.
 And I really am careful of just who should know.
To most I am the invisible girl.
So when one takes notice, it cause my mind to whirl.
I know it's not the best way to be,
But sometimes trusting people feels like it will be the death of me.
I tend to give my heart more quickly than I should.
And that just leads me to places that are no good!
 I wish I could just KNOW who to trust.
 For me to figure this out, it really is a must.
I don't want to stay like this forever.
To work on myself is my endeavor.
So please take an even closer look at me.
And see who exactly I'm striving to be.
