Cats, Dogs And People

Some people are cat-like, others are like a dog;
the characteristics placed in a record-log.
Cats show independence, major self-reliance;
dogs demand assistance, wanting an alliance.
Cats clean and groom themselves, their tongues comb out the grime.
dogs should be washed and trimmed to keep them looking prime.
Cats are solitary, aloof and insular;
dogs are pack animals, social contact prefer.
Cats are choosey diners to satisfy their taste;
dogs eat voraciously, their stomachs gorged in haste.
Cats are low maintenance: litter-box changed and fed;
dogs must be entertained, exercised, trained and led.
Cats are imperious, regal service await;
dogs are obsequious, submissively relate.
Although different species, there's a close parallel
with cats, dogs and people riding life's carousel.
