Can friends become lovers

Can friends become lovers?
Do I risk losing a friend, do I show my true colors?
I enjoy this man, every time we spend time together.
When I am in the moment it feels safe forever.
laughter fills the air,
my heart feels lighter, as if I have no cares.
He listens when I speak,
I listen to each word intensely, I don't even blink.
I wonder is he asking the same question?
Are we to be together, is that how we are destined.
I feel like a teenager, wanting to tell all my friends,
I want to call him, I don't want our conversation to end.
I am grateful I have a man friend, to whom, I can be me.
I think I will simply enjoy his company.
Relax, let this friendship grow,
when the time is right, I am certain I will know.

I had lived a life living in yesterday.....today.... I allow my self to be present with my thoughts and feelings of what is real to me.My hope is my writings can help others become more in tuned with themselves...it is a way each one of us can help to connect with our writings. I was a high school stop out missing 117 days of school in the 7th grade..my life ran wild..came up hard..one day after I decided to change my life direction, I went to The University of Michigan and received My Masters in Social Work both micro and macro studies. I have worked in the field as a clinical therapist, developed several programs to aid others with varies challenges.. ,Poetry has been a way to reach some of the population I work with as it is less invasive...as importantly it has helped me better understand myself. I enjoy all the reviews I have received as it helps me to become a more effective writer and validates some of my own personal challenges. I look forward to reading your poems and the reviews you take the time to write. more…
