Blizzard

Heidrun Kordholste-Nikander

There is a white front of snow
Moving in the wind as it blow
The snow makes it hard to breeze
Constantly the nose has to sneeze
In the distance there is a small light
Very, very weak, not at all bright
It promise to be cozily warm
If only I could walk through the storm
There will be a place that is safe
So I won't be anymore a waif

I was born in Germany in 1960. I lived in Germany, Finland, and California and have visited many European countries. I currently live in Germany, but I would like to return to the US. I started writing poems in California inspired by the beautiful nature. I have a master degree in forestry and North American Studies.
