Even among the ashes of my life
you are beside me
eyes full of love, admiration even

When I see nothing in me worthy of reprieve
you hold my hand
tell me I am good
kiss me
honour me with your trust
even when I do not trust myself

Unwavering in your loyalty and supportwhen I would let me fall
your strong hands and loving smile
melt the darkness
and make me light again
