Betrayal

Confused my head started malfunctioning
My child I thought you were carrying
In all your disappointments I stood by you
In times of need I saw the best of you
Yet in my time of need the worse you became
With you, our meeting was only within financial gain
How am I going to live to face tomorrow?
You have become the one that doesn't even want to see me
Why my friend why I ask?
How my friend how?
It is an act of betrayal that leads me to all these questions

I had thoughts about us
I thought I had a friend indeed
In you I confided since I was a friend in need
I thought you had a vision that I believed in
I believed you had the best for the future for us
Perhaps we were going to sing in front of a crowd
The crowds you never had in mind it was just my dream
I had ideas I believed were ours, yet there were some you believed in
I thought you supported me as a friend
Yet you connived with others for my persecution
I stand here in loneliness all because of your selfishness
I stand here in regret with my heart,
Just like every man my heart saying had I known,
Had I known, I would have not trusted you
My friend, you have turned my enemy

Your selfishness an act of betrayal
