Best Coach Ever

You taught us how to play the game,
Our lives will never be the same.
You taught us fundamental skills
And etched them in with endless drills.

You taught us how to throw and run;
We did it all and had such fun.
We learned great lessons along the way;
We learned that hard work will always pay.

You taught us how to win a great game;
And if we had lost, there would have been no shame.
You did all this and kept your cool;
 As great coaches go, Coach John you rule!!

You made football fun and you gave us the tools,
So out on the field, we were nobody's fools.
From warm up to victory you made us feel safe
You made life on the gridiron an easier place

Coach Mike said it best; you really amped up our game
With your talented boys who gave spark to our flame
Your tough love engendered our growth as young men
And we all walked much prouder again and again

In our hearts and our memories you will forever be,
The greatest of coaches in our history.
We are better today; more confident & proud;
 Our collective heads bobbing above even clouds.

Thanks for the kind words, the pep talks and such.
Thanks for your time; of which you gave much.
Thank you for showing us all that you care;
 Other coaches we've had could never compare.

The lessons we learned are all said and done;
 Coach John, you truly are second to none.
Thanks from the players claiming all victories,
And thanks from the parents now with proud memories.
