Being male

Ours is a world
Of endless struggles
From childhood
Through fatherhood.

In most lands,
We are more welcome
Than our sisters;
The mothers of future males.
Beauty versus duty
Feeling versus reasoning
Glamour versus valour
Him and her.
What an irony it all is!

But how do I describe
Being a man
Without betraying the tears
Hidden by my macho pride?

The ceaseless sweat,
Battle fatigues,
The reckless poise
And triangle life.
No! I can't tell you all it means
To be the opposite of a woman.
