Because I failed Thee, I sit here all alone.
Contemplating why, while trembling to the bone.

Because I failed Thee, I don't know what to do.
Sitting here ashamed and afraid to look at You.

Because I failed Thee, I want to run away.
Longing for a new start today.

Because I failed Thee, I have to hide and sneak.
When I know I need to turn and whom I should seek.

Because I failed Thee, I sit here and cry.
I know I'm a failure and should be the one to die.

Because I failed Thee, I sit here in guilt.
Desiring your shield, to cover me like a quilt.

Because I failed Thee, Satan has come in.
Trying to destroy me, he led me into sin.

Because I failed Thee, I need You so much.
I will turn before I get beyond Your touch.

Because I failed Thee, I know I must pray,
And seek the forgiveness my Lord offers me today.
