Beauty, Wonder, and Grace

Through the yellow black-eyed susans
She chases the bumble bees
I look on and realize
She has not born the brunt of their sting
Nor the pain that beautiful curious things
Can sometimes bring
Hope spread like wildflowers
That her life will be full of Beauty
Dreams on this summer breeze
That she may see Wonder in everything
Prayers reverently offered up
That Grace will be enough to sustain her
Through the worst of life's pains
Oh precious child
I look forward for you and ask
That you drink fully
From all of your days
