Beaming Through!

She felt hastily through
her overcoat pocket for
some change;
Hoping there would be enough
there in order to
pay the cabman;
The pale-faced slender
woman, held a limp white
hand;
As she hailed her chauffeur
on her instant command;
Her face bore a slight
smile
And her heart was beating
more passionately at
every mile;
Her eyes shone at the
thought of the world
She looked at her watch
10 to 4 she hurled;
As a happy feeling
struck her
She felt so agitated
And yet very clever;
She put on her bonnet
Her ears were singing
a wonderful sonnett;
Drive me up to the hospital
Hurry up please but
be careful;
The cabman whipped
up at once
Perhaps in her life
she thought,
This could happen bunce;
She bore her beaming
spectacles
and stirred dumbfounded
at this beautiful
miracle;
And with eyes ever so
intent
Felt an absolute
content
Miracle she gloated,
Miracle!
