Battered Angels

A second splits its personality,
enthusiasm blows a violent wind
across the laughs of society's bliss -
an emotional creativity
grasps at sorrow's self-imagery; refined
expectation within folds of a kiss.

Turbulent vehemence; easily stirred
in visions of loneliness that linger
on the edge of insanity's promise,
dark reflections are silently mirrored
as thoughts explode with fervour, wild cancer;
bars buckle and splinter the vast conscious.

And in a fraction's theory of wisdom
soft breath inhales estranged notions with love;
a dimensional free spirit which soothes,
while quiet nerves explore the bright phantom
flickering complexity's sighs above
tears of release in the broken world's truths.
