at her side

To sit at her feet that is a feat unmatched by man, a joy unknown to happiness uncontained in words, I sit at her feet cause he side is too lofty for me to obtain, I sit at her feet cause her side is occupied by a revolving door of suitors, I sit at her feet to worship her, to sit in awe at her, she is the pinnacle of pure perfection and I, I the canyon of the earth am not fit to sit at her feet, yet she permits it, at her feet I sit, wondering what it must be like at her side, dreaming hoping praying, but all the while knowing that I’ll never reach that mountain top, so I sit at her feet and watch and wait as she stops and chats with every prince charming in the land, Cyrano sits at her feet, he has the words to woe her but not the heart to hand them to her, as I sit at her feet wishing I could stand, tall and proud tell her my love is more numerous than the sand, land can’t hold me down I would rather drown than her frown, but I, her clown sit at her feet and smile up, I sit at her feet and hope that I might someday see the view from the top.
