Arrows And Stones Could Not Strike Samuel The Lamanite

The Nephites who believed the words spoken by Samuel the Lamanite,
applied unto the prophet, Nephi, wanting baptism with all their might.
They were then numbered among the saints of The Holy Lamb.
They believed Jesus would be flesh incarnate of The Great I Am!

From atop the city wall, Samuel delivered The Lord's word.
Slings and bows were used to aim at him, but no strikes occurred.
Some hearers chose to harden their hearts, to their condemnation.
Others were deeply touched and angels brought tidings of salvation.

The unbelievers thought it foolish tht a Christ should ever appear,
especially near Jerusalem, the home of their ancestors so dear.

John Hugo Cullen

Born 01 June 1940 at Roswell, New Mexico. Baptized 15 April 1972 in Spring Creek north of Cookeville, Tennessee, at Bend of the River. Ordained a high priest of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints on 04 July 1976 by the late Robert N. Brady.I believe that the standard works, or scriptures, of the church are written by prophets, by revelation and are holy and sacrd. I feel an obligation to share them all, one daily. The only contribution of mine is to turn the prose into poetry so it can be submitted as poetry. I do not claim credit for the basic ideas, but I accept blame for all my mistakes. Please respect the sources, and please be brutally honest, with details, to help the message bearer's improvement! Some may think that using the scriptures for inspiration means that originality is missing. In my poem archive you can also find non-scriptural works, on a variety of topics. Some have been selected, by editors, for publication in The United Kingdom and United States. more…
