Another Point Of View

Empathy fuels my poetry,
gathering thoughts destined for the page.
As poet I pluck words from the wind,
turning pen and paper into their cage.

When probing for deeper awareness,
insensitivity risks my wrath.
For It's hard to accept criticism,
from people blind to another path.

When seeking answers to my questions,
I find truth resides in simple words.
My poems are a snapshot of life,
from the human psyche to nature's birds.

Born to reality of my world,
dreams morph to frustration as time slips.
Emotions resonate in my heart,
and the words simply flow to my lips.

My poetry's meant to open eyes,
offering another point of view.
And speaks of things that are familiar,
managing to connect with a few.

Many of my poems reflect the uniqueness and special circumstances of my upbringing. more…
