Annointed

Kathy A. Wittman 1949 (Tennessee)

I came to Your altar, Oh Lord,
just seeking Your glorious face.
Burdened by life's frailties,
I found You in Your holy place.

As I swayed in Your matchless grace,
annointed by Your Spirit's balm,
I caught a glimpse of Heaven while
You held me in Your mighty palm.

I descended before Your throne
as Your stalwart arms embraced me.
Prostrate before You, I collapsed,
marvelling at Your Majesty.

I left that day, renewed within,
confronting my world, filled with strife.
Yet I know You are with me now,
Your Presence always in my life.
