And So You Return

When autumns august genuflects, winter beckons near
During this redundancy of order very year
I remember you as the trees do their dying leaves
I mourn you when they fall like water through a sieve

When Canadian winds enrapture, red, browns, yellows in their gusts
I loose all sense of power and give in to their thrusts
And ride upon their stinging breeze as do those trusting leaves
They shall fall and so do tears and together we then grieve

Then in late November the first snow comes sweetly down
Like the tears of memories in stealthy whispering sounds
Soon the autumn gently fades and winter sets its trap
And again the melancholy of remembrance has a foreseen relapse
When autumns august genuflects winter whispers on the wind
Each Equinox is like reliving all I treasured most with him
