An Ode to Lost Friendship - Poem (Copyright Michael C. Chang Poems LLC)

Whenever I watch the movie Beaches, it reminds me of close friendships.
When we were friends we were inseparable.

We were complete opposites and also the same.
We shared many laughter and tears.
:D

You shared your thoughts and hurts to me and I listened.
Then there were some challenges that tested our friendship.

Some friendships fail and reconciled.
Our friendship never reconciled.
:(

Was it sad? Yes.
I will miss the times we hung out and cracked jokes.

Was I grateful? Yes.
I will always appreciate seeing a side of your sense of humor and caring heart.
I will always appreciate a part of you is in a part my personality.

Did it lead to good? Yes.
I reconnected with old friends and family, made new friends and joined a church.

I realized there are generous and kind people I never thought I would make friends with.
I realized my wife and kids are my best friends.

I wish I was there to console you when you had some struggles.
I prayed that you will be happy.

I hear you are doing well.
Maybe it was for the best.

I am happy for you.
God bless.
:)
