An Eclipse

The moon,
with its brilliant glow,
steals from the sun
to light up her show.

The sun
shines and shimmers,
giving to all
with his harsh glimmers.

The sun and moon,
so different for each other,
wait years and years
to see one another.

The moon hides by clouds,
and the sun shies from rain
on the days that are bad.
They share the same strain.

On the fateful day
when the moon meets the sun,
the world holds its breath
until the moment is done.

Then it’s back to normal
as the Earth relies on light,
the sun in the day,
the moon all through the night.
