An Angel, A Demon

In slight hands an angel weeps,
a demonic guise approaches,
stalking stealthily nearer,
preparing one final kiss of oblivion;
an angel soars into the sky,
escape from presence of evil,
into darkened skies of obliteration;
armaggedon descends upon the bearer of love,
messages brought by a harbinger of hate,
painting the earth gray with ash,
death rains on fields of destruction;
an angel and its enemy, a demon and its friend,
both facing one another, battered and broken,
an angel glares at its blue-eyed nemesis,
mirrored reflections of self,
they are one and the same.
