An Angel With An Impish Grin

He is always in a disheveled rush,
searching for wonders to fill his day.
And painting life with a liberal brush,
he stretches truth till it fades away.

Embellishing facts he puffs his part,
for ordinary will never suit him.
And wearing a smile fresh from his heart,
the world is submissive to his whim.

Greater, higher, taller, defines his score,
for he is the quintessential male.
And when the women come looking for more,
his boyish good looks are sure to prevail.

As the years embellish his deeds grow,
for he likes his oysters steamed in hell.
And when his ego drives him to go,
he enjoys the feast then hawks the shell.

He's an angel with an impish grin,
yet his passion for tales out weighs truth.
For following fate through thick and thin,
he seeks adventures dreamed of in youth.

Many of my poems reflect the uniqueness and special circumstances of my upbringing. more…
