An American Tribute

We will remember that day the grenade went astray
And five of our American soldiers were hurt in some way
Christopher was injured the worst and this poem is for him
The spirit of love for his family within

The higher good called upon Christopher today
No one was ready for this dedicated soldier to go away
His laugh, his goodness will surely be missed
Tabitha, his wife, will always remember their very special kiss
Taryn and Tanner will miss their daddy, true
A hero, Christopher gave his life for our red, white, and blue

Remember, Christopher is watching from the other side
Our loving spirits have filled his with total pride
Watching down upon his lovely widowed wife
Seeing his children and aiding in their strife

This pain called death cannot divide the love of the Speers
For all time
Christopher's spirit is everywhere
Protecting his family for the rest of days
