America's return

When we get America back will her colors have run?
Will she stand on her own with her buttons undone?
Will the shame of her rape drive her into recluse?
Will she recover her dignity with her garters still loose?
Will her tears become rivers that rage against shores?
Will her humility humble her and open new doors?
How will she stand when she comes back to us?
Will she be greeted with temperance, love or disgust?
Will her clothes be tattered and shall we give her new dress?
Will we tend to her bruises and clean up her mess?
Will we treat her with dignity and show her respect?
Or will the cycle continue with blind faith and neglect?
