America

america your blues are congregating on the
coast
and they are starting to sound the same
america there are novels inside you
bigger than you are imagining

america snap out of it

america your representation is out of your hands
it is no question frightening
here see hands on your mirrored shoulders
turning them around to
eyes that have refused to see you

america your mountains are not waiting anymore
america stare me in the face and exault in your creative language and
tell me your story one more time.

america i know it's more than my machine
against their machine
america come on home
