Alone again

Ten years have passed and look at where we are.
Three kids, a few houses and a new car.
Our paths stay aligned even though others have split.
It must be my good looks or maybe my charming wit.

I had to leave you alone when I deployed.
And when I finally made it home we were both overjoyed.
Now together we must always stay.
I just could not make it if you went away.

I am older and broken and bonded to you.
We are truly stuck together like glue.
Our love has grown so strong.
It won't be long now until the kids are gone.
It will be like our life has just began.
And finally we will be alone again.
