Alone

My throat was dry, and I was speechless.
My heart cracked into a million pieces.
My comfort was gone, and there was no hope.
It felt as if someone
was pounding on my precious heart
with an invisible hammer.
My legs went weak, and my blood
stopped circulating.
It felt as if my spirit left my body
- for everything in the world stopped,
and I felt like an empty carcass. My head was spinning, and tears didn't cease.
I could hear nothing
but the whistle in the wind,
I could see nothing,
for my vision was blurred
due to the tears in my eyes.
I could hear my heart beat through my head
I felt like I was sinking in a dry quicksand.
My heart was crying out but no one could hear me.
