All In The Name Of Politics

Judgement day, a long waited day!!
A thought of the day, maybe when everybody is dead?
Judgement day its meaning may be different I suppose
Take a break in thought, Selah a biblical meaning for pause!
In your thought, imagine these questions, a mind asks
What of the lives being lost?
What about tears of the people crying?
What about the land that has become barren?
This thought is of the one desperate
Yes a thought deep in question for an African!
Talk of judgement day, to this African it is everyday life
Talk of democracy, for poor African people
A word needing to be redefined, a re-teaching
Re-teaching democracy, to a poor boy in Rwanda
Democracy, its meaning a bitter meaning
To this young futureless boy, democracy is what they see as killing, Murdering and butchering of fellow brothers and sisters
To a Rwandan young boy killings murder, bombs and guns
It is music to their ears; it is a song of the day;
This for most Africans is what democracy has meant all their lives
All in the name of politics

My nation of birth, has turned a nation of burden
Someone wake me up when a song of freedom is sung
As for the state of my mind is meandering in pain
A pain in thought and question, yes a question of freedom
A painful thought of democracy, equality love and peace
When is freedom day?
When is judgement day?
In my nation of birth, tell me?
What wrong would one have done?
To warrant torture and infliction of hate
What wrong would one have done?
To be unleashed with anger and corruption
Power corrupts character
What character is there?
When politics becomes sore ticks
Politics what a name!
Who on earth can define?
Define a name politics,
Perhaps its meaning may soothe the pain
Pain in a mind, pain in a soul
Politics defined to a 21 year old Zimbabwean
To this young man, with the world so bright
To such a young man the world is just began
Redefine politics! To this Youngman it has become pain
Pain anger and frustration,
Pain and frustration of being chased from his own land
Please can someone redefine the meaning of politics?
Wake me up at 21 when all of these names have stopped
Wake me up at 21 when a name asylum seeker/ refugee is no more
I hear these sounds loud and clear
Never knowing it may never come close to an end
All in the name of politics

Oh dear Politics, can you spare a moment with me,
Then save the staving population of Zimbabwe,
D.R.C, Burundi, Rwanda and Angola
Oh dear Politics, may your savage spare all of Africa
Oh dear Politics, my pledge for you to spare Iran and Iraq
Politics would you spare in your savage
Innocent soul's mothers and fathers,
Oh dear politicians stop this game, the massacres and murders,
Why not substitute it with love joy hope and peace
With such favour, oh Politics
All the nations will truly live in harmony
Politics can't you see how filthy you are?
Your game is dirty why play it?
Your game costs lives so why stick to it,
Your hunger has you in human killings
This you do for the sake of power protection,
Because of you, Politics
Children, mothers and fathers are scattered around the world,
Because of you, Politics
The future generations of this planet
Have lost their identity
All in your name, Politics
